About Me

I have always been an active person with a keen interest in health and fitness. I trained as a gymnastics coach in my late teens and have worked for various dance and theatre companies since achieving my Modern Drama Degree at Brunel University.

It was whilst working at the Royal Academy of Dance that I was introduced to Pilates and instantly became hooked! At the time I had developed reoccurring hip pain whilst running, and after practising Pilates for a short period of time, I rid myself of my hip pain and noticed great improvements to my overall strength, mobility, muscle tone, balance, posture and body awareness. Regular Pilates practise has helped me to enhance my performance in other types of exercise, as well as keep my back and abdominal muscles healthy and strong for daily living. I found Pilates to be a relaxing form of exercise which helped to balance out my busy lifestyle; each class left me feeling relaxed, centred with an overall feeling of wellbeing.

I decided I wanted to help others experience the benefits I continue to enjoy from Pilates, so in 2010 I began training to become a qualified PilatesĀ  Matwork teacher with the Pilates Institute in London. Following a year of training, I qualified with a CYQ Level 3 Diploma which is the highest level in Pilates. I began teaching straight away, and have never looked back!

The diploma includes matwork for group classes from beginner to advanced levels, as well as personal training sessions and postural analysis. My training and self-development as a Pilates instructor is continuous. More recently I have qualified in a level 3 award in designing pre and post natal exercise programmes with J Pilates and I really enjoy teaching these classes to new mums and mums-to-be! I am inspired by what I learn and want to share this with my clients. I regularly attend workshops and have one-to-one Pilates sessions for myself. I view ongoing training as essential in order to keep up-to-date with the latest developments in the industry.

Currently I run my own mixed level and pre/post-natal Pilates classes in Woking and Guildford and offer private tuition on a one-to-one basis. I also teach for Nuffield Health, Peak Fitness and cover for all the health clubs/leisure centres in the area.

My classes will help you to improve your core strength, balance the muscles around the joints and improve the way your body functions, looks and feels. I have had the pleasure of witnessing my clients improve their own strength, posture, mobility and body awareness and I see how Pilates exercises can help manage back and shoulder pain and in some cases get rid of it completely (See client testimonials).

Class numbers are limited to allow me to give personal attention to clients and I aim to create a relaxed, friendly and fun environment where everyone can work at the level right for them.

I am passionate about the benefits of Pilates and love teaching my classes. Why not come along and try a class for yourself?
